In his will, Hart left the Horseshoe Ranch to the County of Los Angeles. Hart died at the age of 82 on June 24, 1946. He made more than 65 silent films, the last being Tumbleweeds in 1925.

Hart started his acting career in his twenties, but it wasn’t until he was 49 before he moved west to Hollywood to start his movie career.
